the quarter is winding down while insides are winding up. another departure on my horizon and i laugh to think about how similar my emotions were just under a year ago. grounded in the moment, in love with the world, anxious about how a change in location will affect my happiness.
spring has surprised me time and time again… its not just the weather patterns that are unpredictable. friendships strengthened, loosened, forged. intimacy waning and waxing. all the while reminding myself of my role as “K student”.
i worry about not having enough time to reflect. i’m going to blink and be back in Thailand, my skin moist with perspiration and my tongue burning with spice. will i still be caught up here there?
life keeps filtering through in continuous stream of images. it’s too fast, yet it is that momentum that makes it so beautiful.

Beautiful chaos of Frelon gave way to sunday morning, dappled with sunlight streaming in. First asparagus of the season broiled to perfection, crusty tangy bread, eggs, and sriracha sauce lingering on the lips. Brunch on the peeling porch steps that I’ve come to call home. Sounds of lazy traffic bumbling by. Stretch upward, outward and begin the week right.

learning to “hone the habit of observation”, sketch histograms, and note the differences between leuconoid and syconoid canal systems.
remembering to love biking at night, tread lightly in a shared room, and shut the door behind me as to not let out the cats.
reminding myself to wake up to alarms, pack lunches, and remain curious about all the little beautiful things in life. (like moss, waterbears, and lilypads)
